An assessment of training needs of teachers and childcare operators who work with preschool children: A case study

ABSTRACT

National Education Philosophy of Malaysia has clearly outlined its aspiration for developing students’ potential physically, emotionally, spiritually and cognitively. Early childhood education received unbiased attention in the Malaysia Education Blueprint as the most essential segment of education for young learners. It is very important for higher learning institutions to developed appropriate inservice and preservice teacher early childhood education programs to better prepare the professionals in this field. This study investigate the training needs of teachers and childcare operators in providing quality education for pre-schoolers.
